The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank, and publisher dedicated to being a resource for its members, government officials, business executives, journalists, educators and students, civic and religious leaders, and other interested citizens in order to help them better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other countries.
Corporate membership is tailored to meet the needs of your organization.
The Corporate Program serves an international membership consisting of leading global corporations. In addition to the distinct and diverse resources available to corporate members through CFR.org, publications, and research by in-house experts, CFR regularly hosts high-profile speakers from around the world. Recent visiting leaders include Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, U.S. secretary of defense Robert Gates, Chevron Corporation chairman, president, and CEO David J. O'Reilly, and World Bank president Robert B. Zoellick.
The Corporate Program hosts over one hundred yearly events, where members will have the opportunity to interact with some of the world's leading minds in business and finance, focusing on important international challenges. The annual two-day Corporate Conference, held at CFR's New York headquarters, addresses the most pressing international business concerns. CFR also offers a number of Corporate Program roundtable series on current global priorities. These series currently include the Basic Element Emerging Enterprises Series, the C. Peter McColough Roundtable Series on International Economics, the McKinsey Executive Roundtable Series in International Economics, and the Merck & Co., Inc., Global Women Leaders Series. In addition, the Corporate Program works closely with CFR's Maurice R. Greenberg Center for Geoeconomic Studies, which takes an interdisciplinary approach to the links between economics, foreign policy, and national security. Corporate members may also have the opportunity to be directly involved in the work of the fellows through study groups and roundtable discussions. Some of the noted scholars you will meet at CFR include world-renowned economist Jagdish N. Bhagwati, Chinese domestic and foreign policy expert Elizabeth C. Economy, national security expert Stephen Flynn, and acclaimed author and journalist Sebastian Mallaby.
