Founded in 1921, the Council on Foreign Relations is the leading nonprofit membership organization, research center, and publisher dedicated to increasing America's understanding of the world and contributing ideas to U.S. foreign policy. The headquarters is in New York City, with a dynamic office in the nation's capital, and programs nationwide. The Council's 4,000+ members are prominent leaders in international affairs and foreign policy. The Council also publishes Foreign Affairs, the preeminent journal on global issues, and provides up-to-date information about the world and U.S. foreign policy on the Council's award-winning website, CFR.org.
The Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing is responsible for coordinating CFR book marketing strategy as well as media relations for CFR as a whole. The department is responsible for positioning and promoting CFR via the full spectrum of media, marketing, and public relations.

The Council organizes hundreds of events each year, featuring prominent world leaders, government officials, policy experts, and corporate executives. In addition, the Council's Studies Department is one of the country's largest foreign policy think tanks, with a widely respected and influential research staff with expertise in a variety of subject areas. The Council produces cutting-edge research, publishes the preeminent U.S. foreign policy publication, Foreign Affairs, and the award-winning website, www.cfr.org. The Council's headquarters is located in New York, with an active office serving members in Washington, DC.
The Corporate Membership Program consists of over 200 U.S. and foreign corporations from all business sectors, and engages the corporate community in the Council's work. CFR does this by convening events with prominent world leaders, through cutting-edge research, through publishing the preeminent foreign policy publication, Foreign Affairs, and through its award-winning website, cfr.org, considered one of the best resources for on-line foreign policy information. CFR is headquartered in New York with a new state-of-the-art office in Washington, D.C., located only two blocks from the White House.
CFR has approximately 200 Corporate member companies and 4,000 individual members, including top government officials, renowned scholars, and prominent business leaders. CFR also hosts a number of fellowship programs for foreign policy professionals.
